Special bulletin about Quarterly Meeting Registration Process
As announced at previous quarterly meetings, administrative compliance is a component of PGIP PO incentive rewards. One of many measures is based on PO compliance with the quarterly meeting registration process. Another measure is attendance by medical leadership for each PO.

Each PGIP PO is responsible for submitting accurate and complete registrations for all their attendees and invited guests, especially those that are asked to present a best practice or speak formally at the quarterly meeting. If an individual is representing more than one physician organization, each physician organization the attendee is representing should be identified in the registration process.

  1. Each PGIP PO is expected to register their CFO/Exec. Dir./CFO, their medical director(s), and then three or four other leadership positions (nursing, quality, initiative).
  2. All attendees must register (no exceptions for BCBSM, BCBSM presenters, PO guests or presenters).
  3. Registration is automated using the link to the on-line form in PGIP Matters. Telephone number, email address, and name of the physician organization must be included on the form and must be direct contact information for the attendee (especially email address).
  4. Failure to register means more costs for BCBSM (inaccurate meal/seating counts/problems with space to accommodate attendees) and a negative impact upon the administrative performance metric which may result in reduced incentive dollars.

Thank you for your attention; we will now return you to your regularly scheduled eNewsletter!

PGIP Quarterly Meeting Survey
We’ve closed the quarterly meeting survey that was distributed to attendees at all four of the PGIP quarterly meetings in 2011. The results are being compiled and will be announced in the February PGIP Matters eNewsletter. Stay tuned!

We want your input!
Last week, you may have received the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Provider Communications Survey via email. BCBSM designed the survey to get your input on a variety of communications, including Physician Update, the Partners in Health Care Report, the PCMH toolkit and PGIP Matters. If you haven’t yet completed it, please take a few minutes to let us know how we can improve our communication efforts.

Drug co-pay waiver cards – ‘Save me now or pay me later?’
The use of co-pay assistance coupons or cards has increased dramatically over the past three years. Pharmaceutical companies now recognize that they can eliminate one of the “tools” insurance companies use to control costs: the co-pay patients pay for their prescriptions. Read more.

What’s in a name?
One of PGIP’s condition-focused initiatives, the Michigan Oncology Quality Consortium, or MOQC, has been referred to as the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative, or QOPI. QOPI is the tool that MOQC participating oncology practices use to gauge their performance on several process and quality measures. The name of the actual program is MOQC. Starting January 1, 2012, the initiative will be referred to as MOQC.
